The nature of the brief dictates the level of work involved, and each can vary in complexity and therefore time involved.
I produce illustrations to fulfil the brief within an agreed budget, and endeavour to work with all ranges of budgets. Working closely with the author, I can advise on the publishing process along each step of the way. During the project I create a mock-up running order of the text with the illustrations in a suggested layout.
This helps the author to visualise their book and also aids the designer or typesetters at the end of the journey. I upload the illustration files on behalf of the author to the publisher.
